Our reviews exist to help you decide whether something is worth your money and time.
Hands-on testing
We only review products we have used ourselves. Each review explains how long we used the product and how we tested it, and compares it with alternatives at a similar price.
Scores
Reviews are scored out of 5:

|---|---|
| 4.5–5 | Exceptional: among the best you can buy |
| 4–4.4 | Excellent: easy to recommend |
| 3–3.9 | Good, with notable trade-offs |
| 2–2.9 | Flawed: consider the alternatives |
| Below 2 | Not recommended |
Every review lists clear pros and cons alongside its score.
Review units and independence
Some products are lent or given to us by manufacturers, and we say so in the review. Manufacturers never see a review before it is published and have no say in our verdict.
Keeping reviews current
We revisit reviews when software updates, price changes or new competitors change our recommendation, and the update is noted on the page.
