Corrections Policy

We work hard to get things right, and when we don’t, we fix it in the open.

How we correct mistakes

• Factual errors are corrected in the story, and a dated note at the end of the article explains what changed.
• Significant updates that add new information are marked with an “Updated” time at the top of the article.
• Minor fixes such as typos or formatting are made without a note when they don’t change the meaning.
• We don’t quietly delete stories. If a story turns out to be fundamentally wrong, we say so on the page.

If you spot a mistake, contact us with the link to the story and what needs fixing. Every report is reviewed by an editor.
